Update from Lee & Jeff
Dear All
Have been flat out lately, but just caught up on all the news. Such a great idea, well done Kristy.
Work is still as baffling to me now as it was on the 1st day, but hopefully more is sinking in than I realise. My 3mth probation is up soon and hopefully I pass that, if not back to job hunting. Big 6th month probation just before Xmas and that’s the big one, as if pass then you are guaranteed a permanent job.
Shannon just about to finish Year 12 and not with flying colour I might add – The little shit has been very slack, but his mummy (me) has cooked his goose. He tells us now that he would like to be a primary school teacher and for the record I think he would be a natural at it. So next year we have enrolled him in a Foundation Course at Flinders Uni which is a part-time course and for those not familiar with this, it is a course structured to teach people the disciplines of Uni life. If he likes it then we will see about whether he has the discipline for 4 years of uni to get his Batchelor of Teaching. – I hope so. Also have enrolled him in Year 13 (part-time) so that he can get his TER scores to what they should be and also we expect he will pick up many more hours of his part-time work. So with all that I think Shannon may be a little busy next year. He has a lovely girl-friend, Kirsty and she is very supportive and supports the study plan we have for him for the rest of the year.
Jordan is to go on to Year 11 next year and he is striving to become a Sports Scientist or PE Teacher. We have an appointment tomorrow night at his school to confirm all his subject choices are geared for that. He has decided to give up footie after this year as unfortunately for Jordan he suffers many injuries and the young body is not recovering as it should – I think it is a good decision and with Year 11 & 12 and the horizon along with his part-time job I think he has his hands full.
Caitlin is Caitlin – what can I say. She is my greatest challenge. She is doing extremely well at school but unfortunately I can’t say the same for her at home. She is a very loving child and you cannot stay mad with her for long it is just that you are mad with her a lot! She is a typical blonde and if she was older I would swear that she is hormonal, but alas I cannot blame that. For the summer season she is to start Tennis. This is one of Jeff’s interest so it will be lovely for them to spend that time together.
Georgie, Jasmine & Cooper all doing well. Spoke to them all last night as was Jasmine’s 11th birthday, she was having a great day, except “I had to go to school” – very funny. Georgie’s report was not very good again so Jeff had a few stern words to say to her about that. Hope it works as she is an A&B student and for a while now she has been a C&D student.
Jeff & I are going well, no news our end. Just starting to get quotes to do the concrete and lawn for the backyard and after that we will attack the front yard.
We will be in Melb Sat 22nd of Sept – Sun 23rd Sept. We are there to see “War of the Worlds” the stage production. Can hardly wait. Would like to catch up with everybody at Southbank along the Yarra for brunch on the Sunday if you are up for it. Jeff and I have to leave the city around 2pm to catch the plane home, so we would have a decent amount of time to catch up.
Love to all, Getting excited with all these beautiful babies about to be born and look forward to a happy phone call.
Love Lee, Jeff & Family
