Update from Lee Kempster
Dear All Sunday, 3 June 2007
We hope everyone is well. Thought we would have our 1st go at adding to ‘The Blog’. What a great idea!
On Friday night Jeff and I had a rare night out. You may think it strange but we chose to go and see Chopper Reed live. I have read all his books and found them all extremely funny, not sure that says much for my psychological thinking but there we are! We were a little disappointed with the show as he was 4 sheets to the wind! However, being the character he is there were many funny moments. I made sure I went to the loo before he came on, so that I wouldn’t wet my pants! Theme for the show was for the audience before he arrived on stage, to write questions that you needed his advice on, believe it or not! I, myself couldn’t think of a thing that I would ask for a Chopper solution on but many people did and of course his answers are all a little left field needless to say, but very funny. Highlight for the night was having a photos taken with him. Never thought that I would be getting a cuddle from Chopper in my life, let alone standing so close to him. See photos attached. People think I’m mad but would love to invite him to dinner, it certainly wouldn’t be boring.

On Sunday Jeff & I had Dad, Wade, Kathryn, Georgia and Ruby over for lunch to celebrate Caitlin’s 9th birthday. We had a great day. Everybody was in good cheer. Unfortunately Jordan couldn’t be there for lunch or for the group photo as he had to play footie. Have attached a photo of the group plus an extra of the three kids so that you could see how Jordan has changed also. Wade & I had a great time going through the old photo’s and everybody had a few laughs.
I start my new job at Centrelink tomorrow. Have a month of intensive training and then not sure what happens next. I’m sure they will let me know soon enough. I’m now back to full-time work again, after being part-time for two years, so that in itself is going to be quite a challenge. Looking forward to learning something new thou. I am so pleased to be getting into the Government as that gives me job security that these days don’t apply in the private field. Jeff still at the Weather Bureau and can’t see him ever leaving there so I think until retirement this will be our lot in life. Georgie, Jasmine & Cooper all going well going by the phone calls we make to keep in touch. Jeff looking forward to seeing them this coming July holidays. Shannon & Jordan both have part-time jobs and are studying. Shannon in Year 12 and Jordan in Year 10. Shannon has just got his P’s so now has to save for a car. Caitlin is in Year 3 and is about 2 years ahead in her literacy and age appropriate in her Maths. So she is doing well at school. Has just finished her summer season of Netball but want’s to try Tennis next summer.
Take care everyone, look forward to seeing everybody this month in Melbourne.
Love Jeff & Lee
